Prime Minister of Punjab has approved a Sports Endow­ment Fund of Rs 2 billion, programs for youth, women and farmers in the budget. Funds were allocated for special projects related to youth, women and agricultural tube wells. Youth will get interest-free loans, education and sports endowment funds will be created.

The Endowment Fund money will be spent for the welfare of deserving play­ers. “The top performing de­serving players will be given monthly stipends as per their performance. Multiple sports competitions will be orga­nized across the province throughout the year with this fund and ultimately, the talented players will get suf­ficient playing opportunities through these sports compe­titions to polish sports skills.

It was also approved to establish Pakistan Endowment Fund for Education on the pattern of Punjab Endowment Fund, from which scholarships will be given to intelligent poor students across the country. A significant amount has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s Youth Program to provide small loans to the youth. Not only this but the top posi­tion holders and other prom­inent performers will also be given handsome cash prizes.

Now our players who have limited resources will be able to participate in national and international sports competitions without any hurdle.

Two billion has been allocated under the Pakistan National Endowment Fund, the funds for establishing Danish schools in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have been increased from 50 crores to 5 billions.

Resources have been kept in the budget to teach various skills including IT to the youth, money has also been allocated in the budget to provide one lakh free laptops to the youth. Financial assistance will be given to youth starting new businesses in the IT sector. Funds have been earmarked for programs to encourage sports activities among youth and financially empower women. A program for the conversion of agricultural tube wells to solar energy was also approved, as part of the second part of the Kisan package. The training and coach­ing camps of the players will also be conducted using mon­ey from this fund.
