Eid-ul-Azha Holiday in Sindh Notification

Islamabad: The Sindh government has announced public holidays from June 17 to 19 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2024.

Eid-ul-Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a significant religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. In Sindh, Pakistan, the provincial government issues a notification regarding the holiday to ensure its smooth observance.

CM Sindh gave summary approval for three holidays after which the federal government issued a notification in this regard.

Eid-ul-Azha, also called the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two major Islamic festivals celebrated annually. It marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage and commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The festival revolves around sacrifice, charity, and acts of goodwill.

The federal government has also increased the holiday by one more day and issued a notification for holidays from June 28 to July 1, while the holiday of June 28 will not apply to the State Bank and the Federal Board of Revenue.
