The government of Pakistan has started a health insurance program for artists like journalists. Earlier, there was a welfare fund for journalists, but this government has also started a health insurance program 2023. Artists have always promoted the culture, civilization and literary heritage of Pakistan, culture is our heritage and artists are also our heritage.
A meeting of Punjab Writers Welfare Fund was held in Al Hamra Lahore under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Aamir Mir. The meeting was attended by Secretary Information and Culture Ali Nawaz Malik, members of the Board of Governors of Punjab Writers Welfare Fund including Attaullah Qasmi, Dr. Khawaja Muhammad Zakaria, Neelam Ahmad Bashir, Khalid Qayyum, Anbreen Fatima and others.
A list of writers, littérateurs & poets desirous of financial support should be prepared and they should be helped immediately. The annual budget of Punjab Writers Welfare Fund has been increased from 20 lakhs to 90 lakhs.

To make the welfare fund distribution process transparent, a sub-sub-committee will also be formed which will scrutinize those who wish to receive financial support through the Lahore Arts Council, Punjab Arts Council and Majlis Targhee Adab so that the money will be distributed to the deserving writers, littérateurs & poets. Artists register themselves at www.demp.gov, access to health facilities will be through a procedure, artists will be able to get treatment in private hospitals.
Application Forms
Applications are wanted for Punjab Artist Support Fund 2023-24. Artists who meet the eligibility criteria in the advertisement should submit the completed form arts as soon as possible. Attach the following documents along with the form. Two passport size photographs, Experience Certificates, Copy of Identity Card and affidavit.
