Punjab Municipalities Department Garbage Tax Rate 2023

Lahore: Municipalities Department has imposed garbage tax on 2468 rural union councils across Punjab. A tax of Rs 50 per month will be collected from residential houses and Rs 100 from shops, while a tax of Rs 1,000 has been imposed on petrol pumps, marriage halls and service stations. A monthly tax of Rs 2,000 will be collected from the industrial unit. The Punjab government has started steps to empower 2468 rural union councils across the province, provision of machinery for garbage collection in these union councils of rural areas, guard system, 3 centers in each union council for regular cleaning of streets and drains. Workers are being deployed while village committees comprising local people are also being formed

7,404 sentry workers have been recruited for the project and 12,000 village councils have also been formed. Villages will shine, but five billion 18 lakh 28 thousand rupees will be spent annually and 4 billion two and a half crore rupees will be collected in taxes. Cleaning facilities will be provided in villages on the pattern of cities. For a successful project tax has been levied, Patwari, Lumberdars will help collect garbage tax.
