The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and other districts of Punjab today. Cloudy weather is expected in Peshawar, Chitral, and Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain is expected in Sukkur and Larkana in Sindh. The weather will be very hot in Mithi, Nawabshah. Temperatures are expected to reach 43 degrees.
DI Khan, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Sargodha, Khushab, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Kasur, and Okara during Wednesday to Sunday. Intermittent rain with thunderstorms, winds, and thunderstorms is expected in some places.
According to the Meteorological Department, thundershowers are also expected in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Kotli, Mirpur, and other districts. The meteorological department has forecast fog in the plains after the rains and haze in the areas adjoining the Pothohar region. Due to the negative effects of climate change in Pakistan, where the pattern of seasons has changed, despite the reduction in the severity of cold, the duration of morning and night fog in the plains has also started increasing. For the first time in February, Punjab Fog prevails in most of the plains.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature dropped by 10 degrees Celsius to 10.5 degrees Celsius today. According to Meteorological Department Khalid Malik, the current cold wave is likely to continue till Friday, after which the temperature will gradually start rising. He said the mercury could drop to at least 7 degrees Celsius in one to two days, but there was no chance of rain as a result of the western winds.

According to previous years’ records, the minimum temperature in December was 7 degrees in 2010, 7.5 degrees in 2011, 7 degrees in 2012, 6 degrees in 2013, 10 degrees in 2014, 8.5 degrees in 2015, and 13.6 degrees in 2016. I recorded 8.6 degrees Celsius, 9 degrees Celsius in 2018, and at least 9.2 degrees Celsius in 2019.
