Sindh Free Electricity For 100 Units Customers

The Sindh government has decided to provide free electricity through solar. The Chief Minister of Sindh said in the budget speech that on the instructions of Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh government has decided to provide free solar rooftop system to 2.6 million off-grid households in the next five years.

Sindh Free Electricity For 100 Units Customers

In the first phase, 500,000 homes will be provided with solar home systems in the next financial year. The system includes 100 WT solar panels, 13 LED lights, a fan and 6 hours of battery storage.

A plan to provide free electricity to consumers up to 100 units has been prepared, under which in the first phase, 100 units of free electricity will be provided to the public from the solar park and mini grid station.

The Sindh government has allocated money for solar energy and mini-grid in the new fiscal year budget. 5 billion rupees will be initially allocated for solar energy in the Sindh budget.

The budget is also introducing a scheme to provide solar panels at a very discounted price. 200,000 solar panels will be given to the poor and middle class, 80% of the cost of solar panels will be borne by the government and only 20% from the public.

There are 500,000 houses in Sindh where there is no end-to-end electricity facility. Solar parks and mini-grid stations will be installed in Sindh including Karachi.
