The government of Punjab has approved giving a quarterly stipend of Rs.7500 through a “Hemat Card” to certified persons with disability who are not capable of work. Eligible persons to avail of this facility can ensure correct entry of their details by visiting any help desk or office of the District Social Welfare Officer established by the Department of Social Welfare Punjab.
A memorandum of understanding was entered into for the award of courage cards for special persons in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that special persons are very special for us, the care of special persons is the responsibility of the state. In the first phase, 40 thousand and 25 thousand courage cards will be issued to the people in the second phase, 10500 rupees every quarter will be provided to all the special persons across the province through the Himmat card.

The system of registration of persons with disabilities was launched by the Punjab government in 2022. According to the criteria issued by the government, disabled persons are recognized only to whom the medical board issues a regular certificate after examination.

Gazetted Officers of the Social Welfare Department have been sent to the field to verify the records of disabled persons. . So far 8 thousand people have been verified and data has been uploaded.
Punjab Hamat Card Apply Online
The system of registration of persons with disabilities was launched by the Punjab government in 2022. Any person with disabilities can not only apply online for the examination of the medical board to get his disability certificate but can also take an appointment date online. The Medical Board examines the disabled person and issues him a regular disability certificate. Disabled persons can apply Online for a Punjab Hamat Card at www.swd punjab gov. pk.
Payment will be made through the Bank of Punjab to disabled persons through Hemat Card. A helpline 1312 has been introduced by the Social Welfare and Baitul Mal Department for queries and complaints related to the Hamat Card. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Saturday – dial 1312 to lodge questions or complaints.
On the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a new Disability Aids program is being launched under which wheelchairs and hearing aids worth Rs. 2 billion rupees have already been sanctioned to help the poor with disabilities through a ‘Hemat Card’. What is a Himmat Card?
Himmat Card is a service package that can be availed by the PWDs by the Government. At present moment, the government of India has declared for provision of a quarterly stipend of amount Rs. 7,500 to the needy PWDs. Subsequently, the Himmat card has been linked with any other service declared by the Government to PWDs in the future.

PWD should be certified by Social Welfare Punjab and should be trained to deal with their area of difficulty appropriately.
The origin of PWD should not fit to work
PWD should not be employed in government or in private office
PWD should not have taken recently any grant from Bait ul Maal, Zakat Fund, PSPA, BISP, etc
The PMT score issued by BISP should not be more than thirty-seven.
