The Sub-Committee of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Wednesday was told that the Government Scheme Haj package for the year 2020 was likely to increase by Rs63,000.

Any person who has performed Hajj under the Government Hajj Scheme in the last 5 years
(2015 and onwards) will not be eligible to perform Hajj in 2020 under this scheme, except as a Mehram.
The pilgrims have been instructed by the Hajj Ministry to submit a request in the form of a group, a maximum of 14 persons can be added to a group. This year Hajj Application draw will be announced in the form of a pilgrimage group.

The Hajj Ministry has allocated a quota of 10,000 for pilgrims over 70 years of age. One thousand quotas have been reserved for Pakistanis across the country who will be considered eligible if they receive more than quota applications. Similarly, those who failed in the last 3 projections will be considered successful.
For more than 70 years, and candidates whose names do not appear in previous drawings should submit the application form in the same category. Pregnant women over 5 months are not eligible to apply for Hajj, as well as those who have severe heart disease, tuberculosis, asthma, high-level diabetes, and blood pressure patients will not be able to apply.
Applicants from Karachi, Sukkur, and Quetta will have to submit the Hajj expenditure of Rs 478520. The pilgrims who will go to Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad will have to deposit Rs.486270.Costs include pilgrimage training, bilateral airline tickets, accommodation in Mecca and Medina, meals, transport, boarding and tuition fees.

Last year, 184210 people went for Hajj, while now 179210 pilgrims will go for Hajj, due to an increase in Hajj package. This year, the government has allocated a 60% quota for the Hajj scheme and a 40% quota for the private Hajj scheme.
