Karachi: Ministry of Aviation issued policy rules regarding drone cameras and declared registration in civil aviation mandatory.

According to the policy rules, drones have to be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority, it has been made mandatory for the owners of drones to register within 4 months of the rules being issued.

CAA Remote Pilot Licence
According to the Ministry of Aviation, Civil Aviation will issue “Remote Pilot Licence” to those who have drone cameras.
CAA Drone Camera License Categories
Drone cameras are divided into four categories based on weight. Import and export of drone cameras category one to four will be allowed in the country.
CAA Drone Camera License Validity
The validity of the drone camera license will be up to 3 years while there will be a ban on flying drones in borders and restricted areas. Clearance from the Ministry of Defense is mandatory for importing drone cameras.
Similarly, in case of accidents involving drone cameras, it will be mandatory to inform the Civil Aviation Authority and action will be taken against the drone owners for violating the rules. Inspection of drones by civil aviation inspectors has been made mandatory, without which drones will not be able to fly.
According to the Ministry of Aviation, there will be a ban on flying drones within 6 km of airports. There will be a government-level coordination committee regarding drones headed by the Home Secretary and DG Airports Authority as the head member of other institutions. will be included. Approval of the Prime Minister is required for amendment or change in the policy rules.
