Beijing: A spectacular and colorful opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games was held in China. President Xi Jinping was present at the ceremony. More than 12,000 athletes from 45 countries are participating in the mega event. The grand opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games was held in Hangzhou, China. Chinese President Xi Jinping and heads of some countries were also present at the stadium in the ceremony. The Hungzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium had a capacity of 80,000 spectators. More than 12 thousand athletes from 45 countries are participating in this mega event, 481 events will be held at 56 venues.
Pakistan has made it to the quarter-finals of the Asian Games volleyball tournament. For the semi-finals, Pakistan will face Qatar. In the volleyball tournament of the 19th Asian Games held in China, the national team also won its third league match in Pool D. Pakistan beat South Korea 0-3 after a thrilling contest, the national team won the first game 19-25 and won the second game 22-25. The national volleyball team advanced to the quarterfinals with a 20-25 victory in the third game, Pakistan having defeated Mongolia in the opening match and Chinese Taipei in the second match.

Pakistan Cricket team will start with the quarter finals which will be played on October 3 and 4. The semi-finals will be held on October 6, while the third place match and the final will be played on October 7.

A 262-member Pakistan contingent including 137 male and 53 female athletes and team officials are participating in the mega event. Pakistani athletes will participate in 25 sports including cricket, hockey, swimming, badminton, wushu, men’s and women’s cricket teams. are also included. Women cricket team captain Nida Dar and shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir are the captains of the Pakistani team. China is hosting the Asian Games for the third time. Earlier, China hosted the Asian Games in 1990 and 2010.

Captain Nida Dar, Alia Riaz, Anush Nasir, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Muniba Ali, Najia Alvi, Nashera Sindhu, Natalia Pervez, Umima Sohail, Sadaf Shams, Shawal Zulfikar, Sidra Amin, Aroob Shah and Umm Hani are included. Before the Asian Games, the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team will play three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals (part of the ICC Championship) in the home series against South Africa from September 1 to 14.
