The Sindh Finance Department has issued a notification to increase the salaries of government employees, the implementation of ad hoc relief allowance will be from July 1, 2023.

According to the notification, 35% ad-hoc relief allowance is included in the salary of employees in grade 1 to 16, 30% ad-hoc relief allowance is included in the salary of officers in grade 17 and above. Notification of increase on deputation, additional charge allowance and special pay was also issued.

The Sindh government has approved a summary of 30% increase in the salary and allowance of government lawyers. The salary of the Additional Advocate General is Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand while the house rent is Rs 70 thousand. Additional advocate general has been summarily approved for medical facility equivalent to grade 21, daily visiting allowance of Rs.4000 and non-practicing allowance of Rs.520,000.

The salary of Assistant Advocate General has been summarily approved to be Rs.1 lakh 4 thousand and Rs.3 lakh excluding non-practicing allowance. The summary of medical facility and daily visiting allowance of Grade 19 to the Assistant Advocate General was approved at Rs.3 thousand 280.
The federal government of Pakistan has announced a 35% salary rise for government workers, effective immediately. The rise will take the form of ad hoc relief, transportation, deputation, additional charge, special pay and current search allowance.

For government Employees, the federal government has approved a sizable pay rise. The salary increase, which takes effect on July 1, 2023, consists of a number of different elements, including ad hoc relief, transport, deputation, additional charge, special pay, and current charge allowance.

Through ad hoc relief allowance, orderly allowance, conveyance allowance for disabled persons, deputation allowance, supplementary charge allowance, and special compensation, government personnel would see their salaries increase from 23% to 35%. Notably, the orderly allowance has been increased from Rs 17,500 to Rs 25,000 per month, and the conveyance allowance for disabled people has seen a spectacular 100% increase. As an ad hoc relief allowance, employees in grades 1 through 16 will see a basic wage increase of 35%, while officers in grades 17 through 22 would see a 30% boost.
Contract workers, contingently paid employees, federal government employees, members of the armed forces, civil armed forces, and civil servants who get pay from defence estimates are all eligible for the ad hoc relief allowance. In addition, it will apply when on leave and LPR (Leave Preparatory to Retirement), with the exception of extraordinary leave.

The ad hoc relief allowance will be taxed as income but will not be factored into pension, gratuity, or house rent calculations. Additionally, the allowance will not be available while personnel are on deputation abroad; however, it will continue once they return and are hired by the appropriate departments.

Without the need for additional funds, ministries and divisions are responsible for paying the ad hoc relief allowance out of their allotted budgets. The maximum amount has increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 but the rates of deputation allowance, supplementary charge allowance, and special pay remain unaltered. Additionally, the transport allowance for people with disabilities has raised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000.
