For admission into the PhD, minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in MPhil/MS/Equivalent is required.

Candidates may submit their applications ONLINE at www.gcuonline.pk until February 28, 2023. after paying the processing fee Rs. 1500/- at any branch of the UBL around Pakistan. Payment through UBL Mobile App/ Omni is not acceptable.

The Government College University Lahore soliciting applications for full-time Doctorate (PhD) Degree programmes in the following disciplines.

• Computer Science
• Islamic Studies
• English Literature

Note: Foreign qualified (degree holders) can also apply, if they get an equivalence certificate from HEC before the deadline.

A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS (GRE-Subject), USA with minimum of 60% marks must be cleared prior to admission for the PhD Program. The subject test should be valid till the last date to apply.
Note: If the test is not on the NTS subject list, the University will conduct its internal entrance test similar to the GRE type Subject Test, with a qualifying score of 70%. m
NOTE:
HEC scholarship holders are encouraged to apply. An employer’s NOC is required from the government employees, semi-government employees, and autonomous bodies. The admitted scholars must obtain a study leave from their parent department to pursue in the PhD studies/research.
Each application and research proposal will be evaluated by the Departmental Admission
Committee (DAC). The department will hold interviews with the short-listed candidates after carefully examining their qualifications and research proposals.
Application printouts must be submitted to the office of the relevant department by February 28, 2023,
4:00 p.m.f along with the academic credentials, a research proposal, a copy of the NOC from the employer (if you are an employee), and a valid NTS or ETS subject test. Incomplete applications or received after the deadline will not be entertained.
