KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided not to issue new currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr 2021. No new notes will be issued to the public on Eid-ul-Fitr. New notes were not issued last year in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The SBP has taken a major decision regarding the issuance of new currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr, under which the Eid-ul-Fitr will not be distributed this year and in this regard, the SBP has issued instructions to all chief managers. Prior to the Corona epidemic, the SBP used to issue new currency notes on the occasion of Eid.

A letter issued by the SBP to its chief managers said that the SBP would not issue new currency notes and that new currency notes would not be issued to SBP employees, including the public.
