Sindh School Education & Literacy Department, UNICEF, and SABAQ Muse have joined hands to make quality education accessible to primary school students across Sindh. The new academic year of all public and private schools across Sindh, including Karachi, is scheduled to begin from August. Under the online college admission system, online applications for admission to bachelor’s and associate degree programs in government colleges of Punjab have been started.

School Education and Literacy Department in collaboration with the USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) continued engaging students through narrated stories. It has been decided to start online classes from sixth to twelfth class across Sindh and a notification has also been issued in this regard.

The Sindh Education Department has decided to start online classes from sixth to twelfth grade across Sindh. The Education Secretary has issued a notification to start online classes for government schools. According to the notification, sixth grade in all government schools across Sindh. Classes up to 12th grade will be online.

According to the notification, online classes will be started with the help of UNICEF and Microsoft and in this regard 75 master trainers will also train teachers for online classes. IT experts are also being hired for the online session.

The Director of Primary Education Karachi Division has issued a notification to change the schedule of the annual examinations of class IV and V in the province. In Sindh, the schedule of the annual examinations of class 4 and 5 has been changed.

Students from KG to 5th class will be given online education. An app called SELD Learning has been developed for online education, in which Maths, Science, English, and Urdu subjects will be taught online. Online courses are available in English, Urdu, and Sindhi, while work is underway on online education from sixth to 12th grade.

The second and third phases of the teaching process have started across Sindh. After a long shutdown in view of the Corona epidemic, private and government educational institutions across the province, including Karachi, have been fully reopened. The 9th and 10th classes, colleges, and universities were reopened across Sindh on 15th September 2020.

The provincial government had postponed the resumption of educational activities in the sixth to eighth classes on 21st September 2020 for a week after corona cases surfaced in educational institutions. It has been restored. According to the orders of the Sindh Education Department, Saeed Ghani, all educational institutions have to abide by QOSOPs. Sick students or teachers will not come to school while strict action will be taken against schools that do not follow precautionary measures.
