Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the Global Climate Change Summit on December 12. PM will address the summit via a video-link and highlight Pakistan’s climate change policies. The UK was scheduled to host the UN Climate Change Summit in Glasgow but the event was postponed to November 2021 due to the coronavirus epidemic. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Johnson announced on December 12, 2020, that they would host a historic global event.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the summit today on the completion of five years of the Paris Agreement. The Prime Minister will brief the world on Pakistan’s efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change. The Prime Minister’s speech will be broadcast at 07:00 pm.
The agreement aims to keep global warming below two degrees Celsius by this century and to take steps to bring global temperatures down to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
