The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the date of the Online PMC MDCAT Entry Test Registration in Pakistan. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon from Sindh, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal from Punjab, Prof. Muhammad Zubair Khan from KP, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Asad from Balochistan, and Barrister Sultan Mansoor from Islamabad will be in charge. The institutions designated by the concerned authorities to monitor the examination process include the University of Health Sciences, Lahore (Punjab), and Dow University of Health Sciences. A total of 174744 applications were received for MD CAT. After scrutiny, PM&DC has finalized 167077 applications.

You can Apply at the official website www.pmdc.pk from 5th August to 19th August 2024.The exam will be conducted at least 30 locations across the country. Two international hubs in Dubai and Riyadh are also included.

PMC MDCAT Registration Fee

Jinnah Sindh Medical University is responsible for the MDCAT written test and admission, Jinnah Sindh Medical University Vice-Chancellor Professor Amjad Siraj Memon said that the written test in Karachi will be held at Muskan Gate Ground of Karachi University and Cricket Ground of Dow University Ojha Campus. It will be held while in Sindh, Lums University Jamshoro in Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad in Nawabshah, Bilawal Sports Complex Nawabshah, and Larkana Police Training School will be held.

PMC MDCAT Schedule

Students who have passed FSC Pre-Medical with 60% marks can take the MDCAT exam. The MDCAT exam would be conducted in writing, on paper, instead of computer, while the result would be uploaded on the PMC website.

Pass marks of MDCAT shall be 60%. Admission to all public or private colleges including all government-notified quota seats shall be subject to mandatorily having passed the MDCAT exam. Admission to all public colleges will be held on merit by each Province between November and December. Admissions of the constituent administered and affiliated colleges of NUMS shall be carried out by NUMS based on merit. The NUMS Entry Test conducted by NUMS on 11th October 2021 will be part of the admission criteria in addition to MDCAT. more than 125,000 aspiring candidates have registered for MDCAT 2024 across Pakistan.

PMC MDCAT Entry Test Centers

The examination centers would be set up at Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences of Balochistan; University of Health Sciences, Lahore; Khyber Medical University, Peshawar; Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.

Two international examination centers for MDCAT would be established in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, the sources said, adding that examination centers could be based in countries where the number of students intending to appear in the exams exceeded 100.

The proposed fee structure for private medical colleges will be submitted to the PMC while NUMS has been given the authority to conduct examinations under the F.SC syllabus. All the applications for the license can be submitted on the online portal and the process of all the delayed licenses will be started immediately while the whole process regarding the license will be completed in 4 weeks. Those wishing to enroll in foreign colleges will be responsible until the colleges are verified.

The Test will be conducted simultaneously at all Local Exam Centers at 10:00 AM PST. The Test at International Centers will be indicated on the admit Card. A Candidate’s MDCAT result shall be valid for three years from the date of the exam If a Person retakes the MDCAT exam during the period this period, the person may use the highest attained result to apply to a medical or dental college

MDCAT Entry Test Cities/Stations

MDCAT 2024 will be conducted at the following cities/ Stations(depending Upon the viable Number of applicants).

All medical colleges in Kyrgyzstan have been blacklisted and graduates from such colleges will not be eligible to apply for a license. In addition, Dr. Shaista Zeeshan has been appointed as Council Secretary on a contract basis for 2 months and Raza Shah has been posted as Director IT on a contract basis till permanent appointment. The council has also set up a committee on human resources, finance, examination, and law. The appointment process will be completed in 45 days by the Human Resource Committee for the appointment of members.

Choice of Local Center

The candidates are directed to Choose one city/station mentioned above as per their preference for appearance in the Entry exam. The candidates are advised for their convenience to choose the city/station nearest to their residence. City/Station once selected can not be changed.

Pattern of MDCAT 2024

The MDCAT exam will be a multi-choice paper-based exam conducted in the English language. It will consist of 200 MCQs according to the following weight.

Important Message regarding PMC MDCAT Result

The MDCAT examination is meant for students seeking to pursue MBBS and BDS degrees. For admission to the MBBS course, the students are required to get at least 55% marks in the MDCAT examination while the requirement for the BDS course is 45% marks.

Students will be allowed to change the exam center once on this portal. PMCMD CAT Exam Registration Portal will be open. The Competent Authority has made this decision for the students to conduct the examination in their respective provinces and their wider interests.
