The federal government of Pakistan has announced an important initiative called the Prime Minister’s Women on Wheels Program to empower women in Pakistan and promote their active participation in society.

A total of 22,000 working women, including working women and students, will be able to purchase their own scooters and motorcycles at a reduced cost. But it reduces their dependence. The Women on Wheels project is soon to be rolled out across the federation. This program is for women aged 18 to 55 years.

A budget of five billion rupees has been allocated for the implementation of the program. The process of distribution of scooters will be transparent, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all eligible women. WOW- Women on Wheels is a Government of Punjab’s initiative for social empowerment of women whereby a GoPb subsidized motorbike is being provided to trained and licensed women. Customized Honda Dream CD 70 motorbikes are being offered under this scheme.

Women earning between Rs 30 thousand and Rs 1.5 lakh are eligible to apply. Additionally, the program recognizes the significant contribution of working women, students, polio health workers, and women journalists to the economic development of the country. Wants to help.

The interested females have to submit the following documents:
1. Complete application form (link to form)
2. Valid CNIC
3. One Photograph
4. An affidavit that the “Maximum Monthly income of applicant (if employed) or guardian / household (if not employed) does not exceed Rs 30,000” (Format of affidavit available on www.bop.com.pk.
5. Matric / equivalent certificate
6. In case applicant is a student, her educational institutions ID card or enrolment letter or copy of last paid fee.
7. Copy of CNIC of Guarantor (in case applicant not employed)
8. Valid Driving License / Learners License
9. Punjab Domicile
