Motorway Case Accused Abid Malhi Arrested from Faisalabad City

Lahore: Abid Malhi, the center of the motorway case, has been arrested from Faisalabad. On September 9, a woman was gang-raped on the Lahore Motorway. The main accused, Abid Malhi, was wanted by the police and was arrested today after 34 days.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahbaz Gul has said that Abid Malhi, the main accused in the motorway case, has been arrested and the accused will be punished according to the constitution and law. His uncle Khalid has played an important role in the arrest of the main accused in the motorway case. Two more people have also been arrested along with the accused.

Khalid was arrested for having contact with his son Abid. The accused had the most contact with Khalid’s son. A few days ago, his mobile phone was taken away, which led to significant progress in the investigation. The intelligence team had left Lahore and played a key role in the arrest along with the police.

Accused Abid Malhi has been shifted from Faisalabad to Lahore after his arrest, where senior police officials are interrogating him. Authorities are trying to get the case tried in jail so that the victim’s privacy is respected.

Abid had fled his home and become a scoundrel since the rape case on the motorway became a high profile case. Police also arrested several relatives and friends of the accused and obtained all kinds of information but the accused did not come to hand. Police raided the house four times on intelligence to arrest the accused, but each time he escaped shortly before the raid.

Punjab Police has declared Abid as Most Wanted Accusing and has set a reward of Rs. 2.5 million for his arrest while various teams and officials of various security agencies across Punjab were given the task of arresting the accused. The Punjab police blacklisted the accused to tighten the noose around him and the information was conveyed to airports and borders across the country so that the accused could not leave the country in any way.

Police blocked Abid Malhi’s identity card, released seven different sketches of the accused so that he could be identified even after disguise so that the accused could easily escape each time he wore a mask due to the coronavirus epidemic.
