The Rawalpindi Traffic Police has formulated a traffic diversion plan for the parade today, stating that all roads leading to the parade ground will be closed tomorrow, and alternative routes will be provided for the flow of traffic.

Preparations for joint parade of armed forces on the occasion of Pakistan Day will be finalized tomorrow and full dress rehearsal will be held on March 21 at Parade Ground Islamabad (Shikraparian). In the parade, Pakistan Air Force’s new multi-role air-to-air fighter jet, the Chinese-made J10C, will fly in front of the nation for the first time.

A large number of civil, military, and foreign dignitaries are participating in the parade. Delegations from Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir are participating in the parade. Special messages are being given for the occasion.

At the beginning of the joint parade, the fighter-bombers of the Pakistan Air Force will perform a spectacular and unique flypast, led by the Chief of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheeruddin Babar Sidhu, flying the American-made Fighting Falcon F-16 state-of-the-art aircraft. Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Sahir Shamshad, Army Chief General Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf will pass by. President Asif Zardari will address the parade.

Participating troops which include foot columns of Army, Navy, PAF, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force, Islamabad Police, Tri-Services Lady officers, Tri-Services Armed Forces Nursing Service, Girls Guide, Boys Scouts, Special Service Group from three Services, mechanized columns of Armoured Corps, Artillery, Army Air Defence, Signals, Engineers, Army Strategic Force Command, Camel Band and President’s Body Guard participated in the parade, according to the ISPR handout.

The ISPR adds that PAF fighter aircraft, aircraft of Pakistan Navy, and helicopters of Army Aviation also rehearsed their flypast for the 23rd of March parade. Aerobatics of PAF Sherdil team and JF-17 thunder and F-16 also part in skydivers.

Pakistan Day is a public holiday in Pakistan on March 23, 2024. The Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) had announced to reschedule the Pakistan Day parade on March 23 due to bad weather and said that the Pakistan Day parade would now be held on March 25. The Armed Forces Parade will be held at Shakarpur on time.

Mobile and internet services will be suspended in the federal capital today while the roads leading to the parade ground have also been closed. The highlight of the parade is that it will showcase Pakistan’s latest defense system while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar. Pakistan Air Force fighter jets will lead the flypast. Due to bad weather in the federal capital, the Pakistan Day parade on March 23 was postponed and rescheduled for March 25.

This day commemorates the resolution passed at the meeting of the All India Muslim League on March 23, 1940, in the light of which the Muslims of the subcontinent embarrassed their dream of a separate homeland.
