Local bodies election sindh Arrangements for the first phase of local body elections in Sindh have been completed. Before the first phase of elections, more than 946 candidates have won unopposed in different districts out of which 71 candidates have won their seats unopposed in Mirpur Khas district. Among the successful candidates, 4 are independents and 67 belong to PPP. Speaking of Mirpur Khas city, no candidate has been able to win unopposed in the Municipal Corporation.

The PML-N has issued tickets to Noshaba Naz from Mirpur Khas city and Noorin Kausar from Taluka Degree while the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party in the province has issued party tickets to Jamila Batool from the city and Rukhsana Shar from Hangurno in Sindhri taluka. The election commission of sindh has set up 785 polling stations across the district for local body elections out of which 244 are for men, 238 for women and 303 are joint polling stations. 2255 polling booths have been set up in the local body elections across the district out of which 1196 will be for men and 159 for women. After Mirpur Khas got the status of Municipal Corporation, this time the city has been divided into two towns, Municipal Corporation Mir Sher Muhammad Khan Talpur and Syed Khadim Ali Shah. The total number of voters in Municipal Corporation (urban constituencies) is 213,613 out of which 115,166 are male and 98,447 are female voters. 210 polling stations have been set up in the municipal corporation in which 95 male and 90 female voters and 25 joint polling stations have been set up.
