The inaugural Higher Education Commission (HEC) funded a four-week online training course for forty-one Fellows of the Interim Placement of Free Ph.D. (IPFP) under the National Faculty Development.
The 1st cohort of 41 IPFP fellows program was conducted online with technical assistance from Microsoft due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the country. The IPFP program supports universities in getting the services of fresh Ph.Ds for a period of one year in anticipation of their recruitment to regular faculty positions.

Under the program, the HEC has invited applications for the fiscal year 2019-20 as ‘IPFP Fellows’ in all areas of study/disciplines. HEC has given the ultimate deadline for the submission of software as of November 28, 2019.
The candidates need to fill required facts online, add mandatory archives,and observe at HEC E portal https://eportal.hec.gov.pk/ipfp.
These include courses on teaching effectiveness, including online teaching, research management, and professional practice. It is in line with HEC’s strategy that all higher education programs should be driven by the goal of student success in the future. The program, led by a team of national and international experts, was conducted in line with the HEC’s top online preparation since the Coronavirus crisis.
The NFDP 2020 course will now be offered to 12 participants in 40 groups between now and August 2020. This is the first competition of the course.
