The provincial cabinet has formally approved a 15 percent increase in salaries and pensions of government employees. The increase was announced in the current fiscal year’s budget, the approval will be effective from July 1, 2022.

The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification for a 10% increase in the pension of civil servants and a minimum wage of Rs. 25,000. In the notification issued by the provincial government, it is said that the basic salary of grade 17 has been fixed from 30 to 45 thousand by increasing the salaries and allowances of the employees, the increase in salaries and allowances will be applicable from the month of July.

The increase in the pension of civil servants has been applied from April 1, 2022. The increase in pension will also be applied to the civil servants who are receiving pension from the defense budget. Has also issued a notification.

The minimum wage increase will also apply to civil servants who receive pensions from the defense budget. The minimum wage has also been applied from April 1, 2022 and the minimum wage will also apply to temporary employees and contract employees.

According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the civil servants earning less than Rs 25,000 will get the remaining amount in the form of differential allowance. This allowance will also be available during RK.

According to the notification, this allowance will not be given on extraordinary leave, the amount of differential allowance will not be included for determination of house rent, graduation and pension, differential allowance will not be given on deputation of civil servants abroad. Civil servants will get an allowance on their return from abroad. No additional supplementary grant will be issued to the ministries and divisions for the payment of this allowance.

Government employee salary increase in 2022

The finance minister did not agree to give a 25 disparity allowance before the budget. He only agreed to increase the salaries in the budget. However, now the employees will be given a 25 percent disparity allowance along with their salaries for four months before the budget. The increment will be in only Basic Salary not for a gross salary. Gross salary includes different Allowances as, House Rent Allowance, Adhoc Relief Allowance 201, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.  Adhoc relief allowance 2013 and 201 is this time only given to Sindh KPK Government employees. The gross salary also includes conveyance allowance, medical allowance, computer allowance, qualification allowance, big city allowance.

The government has announced a 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance on the running basic pay of 2019. The increment of Adhoc relief allowance is 10% to Baic Pay Scale 1 to 16. While Adhoc relief allowance from Basic Pay Scale 16 to the above scale is 05%.

Adhoc Relief Allowance 2019 @ 10% of the Running Basic Pay for BPS-01 to BPS-16 and 5% for BPS-17 to BPS-20. There is no increase for BPS-20 & BPS-22. (For Sindh Government 15% for all).

The meeting also reviewed the increase in salaries of employees in the forthcoming budget. In the budget of the new financial year, recommendations were made to increase the salaries of the higher paid employees and officers and to give more priority to the low-paid employees.
