The implementation of the relief announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the citizens who use less electricity has started.On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, consumers using 300 units and less will not be charged fuel adjustment charge in their electricity bills, a notification has been issued.

1.8 lakh eligible customers of K Electric (KE) service area in Karachi and adjoining areas are benefiting from the Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) relief package announced by the Prime Minister for the month of June, and the August amended bill in are being delivered to residences with extended due dates.

In the first part of the FCA relief package, the government announced relief for non-TOU residential consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity in June. Later, the Government of Pakistan extended this relief to consumers consuming up to 300 units of electricity.

The FCA relief package for the month of June will be applicable to non-Tou residential consumers consuming 300 or less units of electricity. According to K-Electric, all other consumers, such as TOU residential consumers and non-ToU residential consumers, commercial and industrial consumers consuming more than 300 units of electricity, are not eligible for relief.
