The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the schedule for the registration of electoral groups and panels for the upcoming local government (LG) elections in Punjab.

Independents who wanted to contest the local government elections in their province, to form their electoral groups and panels as no independent candidate would be allowed to contest the election.
Candidates who do not want to contest elections on political party tickets should register with the Electoral Group to participate in the elections as independents. From March 24 to March 28, the head of the Electoral Group or his authorized representatives will be able to submit an application on Form 1 to the authorized officer of the Election Commission.
The competent officers will check the applications received on Form 1 by April 1 and in case of deficiencies, they will return the application to the head of the relevant Electoral Group. Will do By April 6, the competent authorities will publish Form 3 Certificate of Entry of the Electoral Group. The last date for submission of objections and submissions against the decisions of the competent officers on acceptance or rejection of the application is April 9.
The Election Commission has issued a schedule for the registration of electoral groups with reference to local body elections in Punjab. Registration application will be submitted to the Election Commission office from 24th March to 28th March 2022. Scrutiny of the applications will be held on 1st April 2022 while the Election Commission officers will issue certificates to groups and panels on April 6,2022.
Applications will be submitted to the office of the Rawalpindi Election Commission-I while those aspiring for the district council, Rawalpindi Election Commission-II will receive their applications. Assistant commissioners of relevant District and Tehsil will register the electoral groups and panels in their respective areas.
These petitions or objections will be heard by the officers appointed by the Election Commission. Decisions on these objections and submissions will be issued by April 13, thus completing the electoral group registration process.
