Islamabad Local Body Election 2024 Schedule

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the Schedule of Local body elections in Islamabad City on its official website www.ecp.gov.pk. There were political workers and the youth were excited who wanted to carry forward the development work in the union councils. According to Islamabad Local Body Elections 2024 Schedule, Voting will now be held on October 9, 2024.

The process of collection and submission of the nomination papers by various candidates is still on. Different candidates got 13 thousand 907 nomination papers. More than 448 candidates have presented their name rights for the Chairman and Vice Chairman positions. A total of 332 nomination papers for Kisan seats, 314 nomination papers for youth seats, 123 nomination papers for minority seats, 632 nomination papers for women seats, and 1889 nomination papers for general seats have been submitted to the District Returning Officer.

As of now, the District Returning Office has received 3738 nomination papers. Citizen’s nomination papers may be filed up to August 28 while municipal elections in the city will be on October 9. Nomination papers for local body elections will be collected from August 16 to 20, candidates’ papers will be scrutinized from August 22 to 26, and election symbols will be allotted to candidates on September 6.

Islamabad Local Body Election 2024 Schedule

The date for submission of nomination papers has been extended to August 28. Candidates will be able to withdraw their nomination papers till August 20, election symbols will be allotted on Sep 6, and polling for local body elections in Islamabad will be held on September 29.
