Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced to give a free solar system to one lakh poor families in the province. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur says that poor families will be given free solar systems up to 2 kilowatts, which includes panels, inverters, wiring, fans, and bulbs.

He also said that the installation of one lakh solar systems will generate electricity. There will be a reduction in theft and line losses, solar systems will be given to poor households registered under the Ehsaas program.

The scheme envisages provision of the solar Technology to P&D, Department Block of Civil Secretariat, as a Pilot Project, which will ensure uninterrupted power supply of electricity to the said department, especially during the summer season, which is one of the main and most challenging jobs for the administration and is also call of time to switch over to alternative and self-reliant source of energy.
