Asia Society New York has announced the competition for the best journalist of the year 2022. The winning journalist will receive a prize of US Doller 10000.
A submission can consist of a single written story or a series of stories around a specific theme. For the purposes of the award, “Asia” is defined as the area from Japan to Iran, and from Central Asia to New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. It does not include the Arab Middle East.
All nominations or direct applications are limited to one per writer or team. Additional weight will be given to submissions by a single reporter. Submissions from outlets in Asia are encouraged.
Journalistic work must have been published in English, during the 2021 calendar year. Submissions must be received by Thursday, March 31, 2022.

The Asia Society, New York has invited applications from journalists for the 2022 Osborne Elite Prize for Excellence in Journalism in Asia. The Doller 10,000 prizes will be awarded to the world’s reporter or team of reporters who have done outstanding work in journalism about the continent of Asia during the calendar year 2022.
The quality of assessment when choosing a journalist includes the impact of the work, its originality, creativity, depth of research, and educational value in informing the public about Asia. Journalists can submit their applications on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
The Osborne Elite Prize for Excellence in Journalism Asia, also known as the “OZ Prize”, is awarded in honor of the late Osborne Elite. Osborne was a journalist and former editor-in-chief of Newsweek. Elliott sets new standards for reporting and editing. He was one of the pioneers of “urban journalism”, known for his journalistic reporting on urgent issues of public policy.
