Islamabad: Troops deployed for By-elections at sensitive polling stations .As election campaigning for the by-polls on August 22 is about to conclude today (Tuesday), army personnel have been deployed at all the sensitive polling stations in Pakistan.
According to sources, troops have been deployed in and outside sensitive polling stations in the backdrop of coming by-polls on 22nd August 2013 and to avoid any untoward situation.
All political parties will end their election campaigning at midnight, following the directives given by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Moreover, the process of army deployment will also come to an end tonight, sources told.
Army personnel have already been stationed at Mirpurkhas and Shikarpur polling stations.
According to the ECP, army personnel will be able to exercise the powers of the first-class magistrate on 22nd August 2013under which they will be able to punish any perpetrators.
A total of 819 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive across in Pakistan while more than 300 as sensitive.
