Sikandar’s condition improving after Ventilator taken off
ISLAMABAD: Sikandar’s condition improving after Ventilator taken off in Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad Pakistan. Gunman Sikandar who sustained bullet wounds in Islamabad has been taken off the ventilator.Dr. Rizwan Taaj told that 51-year-old Sikandar is breathing well but not in a position to record his statement. He said the gunman has been taken off the ventilator in Hospital.
PIMS senior doctor Waseem Khawaja said that gunman received one bullet each in leg, chest and abdomen causing fracture in his ribs.
Waseem Khawaja also said that Sikandar’s wife was in consciousness and her condition is better and she is out of danger. She has recorded her statement to police officials today.
Police shot injured Sikandar who is said to be a former militant, after he opened fire in Jinnah Avenue‚ Blue area of Islamabad last night and created a serious and sensational situation in the federal capital Islamabad for more than five hours.
Sikandar was accompanied by his wife and two children who are also in police custody.
After failed negotiations, police took action when PPP leader‚ Zamurad Khan‚ reached there and pretending to meet children of the culprit‚ tried to grapple him.
Sikandar opened fire but was immediately attacked and overpowered by police.
Two police personnel and Sikandar’s wife were injured. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has ordered inquiry into the incident, directing Secretary Interior to conduct inquiry and present the report.
