ISLAMABAD: New details emerged on Wednesday establishing that the late NAB officer Kamran Faisal, who was found dead in his room last Friday under mysterious circumstances, had never been treated for any psychological ailment by Dr Najma Aziz, a psychologist at the Federal Government Services Hospital.
While talking to The News, Dr Najma, who was previously described as the psychologist of the late officer, confirmed that Kamran Faisal had never received psychological treatment at the hospital.
She said the administration of the hospital had told the police in its written statement that Kamran had never visited her.Dr Najma’s statement has established that Kamran was a normal person and not a psycho-patient as suggested by the NAB bosses and police investigators who are portraying Kamran’s death as a suicide.
“Kamran Faisal had never received any psychological treatment at the hospital. He had never taken any anti-depressants from the hospital,” Dr Najma maintained.
Dr Najma Aziz said she was extremely upset over reports suggesting she was treating Kamran. “I had never said that Kamran was under my treatment. I told the police that Kamran visited Poly Clinic only once on 15th October 2012 for some thyroid tests and cervical X-rays.” she said.
Dr Najma said a police investigator came to her to inquire about two receipts of the said tests found in Kamran’s room. The receipts were signed by Dr Najma. “I saw the receipts and confirmed that signatures on the same were mine, but these receipts had nothing to do with psychological treatment,” she said adding that Kamran Faisal had never turned up for any follow-up treatment.
