Lahore: Punjab government dismisses Two hundred and seventy nine (279) traffic wardens on 1st September 2013. Authorities have sacked over 279 traffic wardens who used fake educational documents for their promotions. Decision made on a report of an inquiry committee.
The issue came to surface when authorities formed a committee after some traffic wardens protested against their non-promotion. 366 educational documents and domiciles were found fake during scrutiny after the wardens were asked to re-submit their documents. The government also registered cases against them.
After going through a scrutiny of all documents submitted by traffic wardens across Punjab, including birth certificates, education documents, 279 were found guilty of forgery and other malpractices.
