Police, protestors clash as ethnic tension hits Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA: Unknown miscreants set several vehicles ablaze and damaged public and private property as ethnic tension grew in a minority neighborhood on Wednesday.
Tension began when two groups exchanged fire in Francisabad.
According to reports, heavy police contingent was deployed in the locality to defuse the tension.
Police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the enraged protestors, who pelted stones at law enforcers.
Tension and fear gripped the Christian locality.
The incident comes less than four weeks after angry mob torched nearly 200 Christian homes at Joseph Colony in Lahore
