Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Health Insurance Card Scheme 2016 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has launched Pakistan Health Insurance Card Scheme in Muzaffarabad Azad Kasmir. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has distributed National Health Card to the Public of Muzaffarabad Azad Kasmir on Thursday February 25,2016.

Prime Minister’s National Health Program is a milestone towards social welfare reforms; ensuring that the identified under-privileged citizens across the country get access to their entitled medical health care in a swift and dignified manner without any financial obligations.

It’s a great step by present government towards making our country a welfare state. This PM health insurance scheme has been launched for those people of the society who are living below the poverty line. Now victims of fatal diseases will not have to borrow loans for the treatment of their diseases. Government will provide up to 3 lac rupees to each heath card insurance holder in a calendar year. This limit can be exceeded up to 6 lac rupees. Initially PM health insurance scheme 2016 has been launched in 15 districts of Pakistan. Soon it will be extended in 23 districts of Pakistan.

Every card holder will be able to avail health facilities worth Rs0.3 million per year; however, in case of exceeding the card limit the patient will be provide financial assistance by Baitul Mal.

Federal government will provide you a health card just like ATM card, through which you will be able to pay fees of private and government hospitals of Pakistan. Yes its a reality that you may use these PM health cards in private hospitals and clinics too. State life insurance and Bait-ul-Mal Pakistan will provide funds for this public welfare program. Treatment of cancer, accidents, burns, diabetic complications, heart bypass and infection… will be insured under the priority diseases category. So each family will get treatment of Rs300,000 per year and the amount will be doubled in case of emergency. The amount will be contributed by the Pakistan Baitul Maal.
PM Health Insurance Scheme 2016

More than 3.2 million families will be benefited through PM health insurance scheme. Government is going to start a social mobilization campaign for registration of Prime Minister Health Insurance Scheme. Patients of diabetes, cancer, hepatitis and other fatal diseases will be treated free of cost under this Prime Minister health insurance scheme 2016. At present just residents of Punjab and Baluchistan can get health insurance card as provincial governments of KPK and Sindh are not ready to join this program due to political differences with PML (N). We request the provincial governments of these provinces to avail this opportunity of serving their people.

Get your Pakistan Sehat Card

In case you have been declared eligible, you can receive your Pakistan Sehat card from the card distribution center developed in your district.

Gather Information and Documents required
Determine the empaneled hospitals for Prime Minister National Health Program.
Take the following documents when you visit the empanelled Government/ Private hospital.

Original CNIC
B-Form (In case of child treatment)

Use your Pakistan Sehat Card to get treatment

After reaching the empaneled hospital you may approach the dedicated PMNHP representative counter for further assistance.The PMNHP staff shall verify your Pakistan Sehat card, and will guide you to the relevant hospital department for the treatment.

Get the treatment free of cost

The cost of treatment after the patient has been admitted in the hospital shall be charged from the Pakistan Sehat Card.

NOTE: This facility is only available in case of patient needs an admission in the hospital
