Election campaign 2013 comes to a close countrywide
ISLAMABAD: The electioneering and canvassing campaign for May general elections has come to a conclusion across the country; now, no political party can hold any public gathering or corner meeting .
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) spokesman, the candidates and political leaders cannot go to talk shows now, as those who attend any aired program, will be held accountable for this violation of the code of conduct.
The ECP spokesman said the action will be taken against those who violate the ECP-set code of conduct, adding the television channels have been urged upon not to telecast Thursday’s programs again.
The Election Commission said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan convened the maximum number of public meetings in the run up to the May 11 polls, followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
