Convocation of undergraduate programme held at NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME)
Rawalpindi:Rawalpindi NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) held its 19th convocation of the undergraduate programme on Friday, says a press release.Lieutenant General Haroon Aslam, chief of Logistics Staff was the chief guest on this occasion.
The 316 degrees were awarded to the undergraduate students, graduates of Electrical, Mechanical, Computer and Mechatronics engineering. Graduates were also awarded medals for their outstanding performances.
Addressing on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the graduating students and lauded the College of EME for providing exceptional engineering skills to the graduated engineers in the discipline of electrical, mechanical, computer and mechatronics engineering that will enable them to lead a professionally satisfying life. He also appreciated the college for its focus on key areas of engineering in terms of imparting technical knowledge with emphasis on research and development both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
In his address NUST Rector Engineer Mohammad Asghar appreciated the efforts of the College of E&ME for providing the most conducive academic environment, state of the art labs and highly qualified faculty for its postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Sana Mazahir of Electrical, Usama Tariq of Computer, Muneeb Ahmed of Mechanical and Muhammad Nabeel of Mechatronics Engineering were awarded Prime Minister’s Gold Medal for their best performance in academics.
Sana Mazahir of Electrical and Usama Tariq of Computer were given the President’s Gold Medal for being the overall best students of the year.
While Muhammad Kamran Ayub of Electrical Engineering was conferred upon the Chief of Army Staff Gold Medal for Best Technical Cadet of the year.
Students were also awarded gold medals for their projects. Muhammad Afnan of Electrical Engineering, Usama Tariq of Computer Engineering, Nabeel Wahab of Mechanical Engineering and Taimur Ahmad of Mechatronics Engineering Clinched Rector’s Gold medal for best projects in their respective disciplines. The impressive convocation ceremony was attended by parents and relatives of the students.
